About Helen

Helen is a generally registered psychologist with a Masters in Professional Psychology from the University of the Sunshine Coast and membership with the Australian Association of Psychologists. 


Helen has worked in private clinics and in the disability sector with children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of presentations, particularly mood and anxiety disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, physical and intellectual disability. She also works with corporate clients under their employee assistance programs and has a special interest in women's mental health in relation to parenting, menopause and other life changes.


Before becoming a psychologist Helen worked in corporate roles for over 20 years and has has significant lived experience which helps her understand her clients. She also has a Bachelor of Social Science (Psych, Hons), Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts (Hons).

Areas of practice

Helen's areas of interest and practice includes:

  • Women's mental health in relation to parenting, menopause, life changes, relationships.
  • Adult therapy (depression, anxiety, stress, interpersonal communication, work issues).
  • Support for adults going through life transitions (divorce, menopause, job loss, children leaving home).
  • Support for parents navigating connection and attachment concerns with their children.
  • Child and youth psychology (anxiety, self-esteem, emotion regulation, behavioural concerns, depression).
  • Neurodiverse psychology (ADHD, autism).


Helen is committed to providing inclusive and affirming care to all of her clients.

Helen sees clients with GP Mental Health Treatment Plans, NDIS, private health or private payment.

Approach to therapy

Helen uses evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy,  Schema Therapy, attachment-based therapy and trauma-informed care. The concepts and strategies of these therapies are adapted to meet the needs, preferences and therapy goal of clients. 


Helen aims to create an inclusive, warm and safe space for clients of all ages, and uses play-based techniques and activities with her little people.


Helen works collaboratively with clients' other stakeholders such as health practitioners, teachers/schools, support workers, family members etc.
